All of Sterling Trust’s plans are written on IRS approved prototype documents, providing cost-effective compliance with the tax codes.

In addition, each plan provides an open architecture giving the investment flexibility (as allowed by plan type) you are looking for. Investment portfolios can be established utilizing more than one mutual fund family. Our 401(k) plans allow for stock and bond purchases inside a brokerage account established for the plan. Some plans even allow clients to hold real estate in their accounts.

Defined Benefit Plans

Sterling Trust also provides a Defined Benefit Plan for those who wish to capture a larger contribution for their retirement needs than that provided under a defined contribution plan. Sterling Trust’s Defined Benefit Plan offers full actuarial certification along with plan design flexibility. All required governmental reporting, participant disclosures, employer summary reports and Department of Labor filings are provided in addition to required non-discrimination testing.

Record Keeping Only

Sterling Trust also offers record keeping only services for those who do not need or desire a third party handling investment transactions for their qualified plan. Although the investment processing has been separated from this arrangement, this service still provides full compliance testing and governmental reporting.
